Nine days across the south coast and the Sidemen valley, built around surf, food and long afternoons. Two guides, eight travellers, and no day that starts before you are ready except the ones worth it.
The summer pasture season at three thousand metres, staying with the herding families we have worked with since 2016. Horses every day if you want them, and three nights at the lake with no electricity and no phone signal.
Patagonia with two possible routes held every single day, chosen at breakfast against the forecast. It is why our travellers are under the towers on the clear morning. Includes three wildlife mornings with a former puma research guide.
Early mornings at the famous places, and the middle of every day in the workshops: an indigo dyer, a knife sharpener, a tea instructor and a sixth-generation paper maker. Two nights in a ryokan with an outdoor bath.
Three days to reach the Sahara instead of the usual one, through the High Atlas and the gorges, and two nights in the dunes rather than a rushed single. The second night in the desert is the one everybody talks about afterwards.
A week above the treeline in the Alta Badia and Sesto valleys, sleeping in rifugios and eating extremely well at two thousand metres. Main luggage moves between valleys so you walk with a day pack.
Six nights in villages rather than in town, with a self-drive route, two ferry crossings and a heimablídni supper in a family home. Built with slack days, because the weather here writes its own itinerary.
Five slow nights around the travertines and the Çal highlands. Mornings on the terraces before the gates get busy, afternoons in thermal water, vineyards and a pottery workshop, and nothing scheduled after six.
